Liverpool vs. Tottenham Preview 10 March

Liverpool vs. Tottenham Preview 10 March 2013

Liverpool vs. Tottenham Hotspur

It is set to be a cracker at Anfield on 10 March 2013.

The visitors, Tottenham Hotspur, are in a magnificent run of form.  Their form continued on Thursday when Spurs defeated Inter Milan at home in their Europa League tie. Goals from Gareth Bale, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Jan Vertonghen secured a strong advantage for the North London side going into the second leg at the San Siro next Thursday evening.

Tottenham's last league match was against their fierce rivals, Arsenal.  The match took place at White Hart Lane and the home side set the tone early with magnificent support.  The strong support paid off as goals from Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon carried Spurs to a 2-1 victory.

Philippe Coutinho
The home side, Liverpool, are also in a great run of form.  Their leading goal scorer, Luis Suarez, has been trying to carry his team to a high finish after a sluggish start to the season.

Liverpool's most recent January signing, Philippe Coutinho, has established himself in the CAM role.  He has already had his first goal in the Liverpool shirt and has been growing in confidence ever since. He has produced many assists which have left the Kop faithful impressed by the young Brazilian.

Key Players and Players to Watch:

Tottenham- Mousa Dembele

Mousa Dembele
The Belgian tank has been a regular in the Spurs' midfield.  He has been paired up with both Sandro and Scott Parker and is currently enjoying a nice run of form.  He has the unique ability to skip past defenders and pick out the right passes in the attack.  He also can produce a solid long range shot as evident against Lyon. If Mousa Dembele is solid for Tottenham Hotspur, then his squad will enjoy success.

Luis Suàrez
Liverpool- Luis Suàrez

The Uruguayan striker is enjoying his 2nd full season at Anfield.  He is the current top scorer in the English first division with 21 goals.  His repertoire includes curling free kicks, poaching in front of goal, and latching onto crosses.  The striker will be aided this weekend as his strike partner, Daniel Sturridge, will likely return for the match on Sunday.

My prediction-

2-2

Scorers-     Tottenham;    Bale, Holtby
                    Liverpool;       Suarez, Sturridge

One thing is certain: It should be a cracker.
